Institute Objectives

The Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) is sponsoring two regional institutes aimed at easing student transitions between secondary and postsecondary education, and from education to employment, through the use of programs of study organized around the career clusters.  Institutes will:

" " Provide individualized technical assistance to help state teams create new, or enhance existing statewide programs of study;

" " Raise awareness of promising practices and common obstacles state administrators and local partnerships have encountered in developing and implementing programs of study;

" " Share information on OVAE's College and Career Transitions Initiative data collection project; and

" " Offer strategies for implementing career and technical programs of study that align with federal guidelines and reporting requirements contained in the Perkins IV legislation.
