
We are currently seeking a Director who will lead and promote MPR’s efforts to expand our portfolio of projects related to connections between education and work, especially those involving longitudinal data systems. The Director will be based in our Washington office and will also be responsible for the oversight and management of this growing office, which currently has 10 staff members.

- Contribute knowledge and expertise to strengthen our strategic vision and enhance our capacity to engage in work focused on connecting education and work and workforce development.
- Work collaboratively with MPR management and senior staff to identify opportunities and develop new business related to connecting education and work, especially projects using longitudinal data systems.
- Direct and participate in research projects, working collaboratively with research, administrative, programming, web, and publishing staff as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients and other associates and promote MPR’s expertise and experience through presentations, meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Washington office, supported by and coordinating with administrative, accounting, HR, IT and other staff in the Berkeley office.

- Advanced degree in education, public policy, economics, or a related social science field.
- Substantial and relevant subject matter expertise with at least 10 years of professional experience undertaking both quantitative and qualitative research projects.
- Solid experience developing and securing new business, managing projects and working on multiple projects at the same time in a consulting or similar environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to consistently producing high quality work on time and within budget.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with record of published work and significant presentation experience.
- Effective leadership, management and supervision skills.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships internally and externally.
