We currently have an opening for an experienced full–time .NET Programmer in our Berkeley, CA office. In this position you will work on research–related projects as part of our Web Design and Technology Tools Group. A typical workweek is 40 hours in a relatively low–stress environment. You are expected to stay abreast of current technologies and learn new technologies, languages, and programs on an ongoing basis.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Turning new designs into clean, standards compliant HTML/CSS,
• Writing client–side code in JavaScript using libraries such as jQuery,
• Developing and maintaining ASP.NET 2.0 and later websites,
• Designing and implementing database schemas and stored procedures, and
• Authoring and reviewing software project specifications.

Interested applicants must have at least 3 years of experience creating dynamic database driven websites using Microsoft technologies, specifically:

• Programming web pages and modules using ASP.NET and C#,
• Designing databases and developing stored procedures using Microsoft SQL Server,
• Utilizing HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and
• Addressing cross–browser design issues.

In addition, the ideal candidate would possess the following technical skills and experience: Ability to develop and maintain MySQL databases; Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, VBScript); Experience with PHP and Java Server Pages (JSP). Familiarity with social science research and statistical methods is also desirable.
