We currently have an opportunity for a full-time accounting professional to serve as Junior Accountant in our 5-person Accounting department. This position is located in our Berkeley, CA office. In this position you will work collaboratively with the entire Accounting team on a wide variety of accounting and administrative duties.

Specific responsibilities of the Junior Accountant include:

• Processing the entire A/P cycle and related A/P duties;
• Compiling cost data and preparing related journal entries;
• Processing electronic timesheets on a semi-monthly basis;
• Assisting with cash receipts application and bank reconciliations;
• Organizing and maintaining accounting department records and files;
• Responding to inquiries and interacting with staff and vendors to process and resolve questions regarding reimbursements, payables, accounts and any discrepancies;
• Preparing periodic reports on billable costs and overhead costs; and
• Providing support on special accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and college-level coursework in business, finance or accounting , plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in job-costing environment and/or a consulting services firm;
• Meticulous attention to detail with commitment to quality and accuracy;
• Excellent communication skills with strong interpersonal skills;
• Highly organized and self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability;
• Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent MS Excel skills and experience with Deltek software and/or ADP highly desired;
• Able to work during regular business hours, 8:30-5, M-F; and
• Valid long-term eligibility to work in the United States.
