MPR's work in adult education and literacy focuses on improving services to adults with low levels of literacy. Projects involve national, state, and local policies, programs, and partnerships supporting adult basic and secondary education, English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, family literacy, workforce development, and correctional education. Our expertise in this area includes:

• Conducting adult education research, particularly qualitative studies.
• Developing accessible online tools, resources, and resource centers.
• Providing technical assistance to federal and state governments, postsecondary institutions, and business.
• Developing training materials and providing professional development at the state and local levels.
• Analyzing federal and state policy and "translating" government policy for the adult education field.
